Tele-healthcare in action

Samara Medical Aviation Service

YSAR+ has made its contribution to provision of high-quality medical assistance to patients from the most remote districts of the Samara Region. With the help of the automated system of remote tele-healthcare consultations (implemented by YSAR+), patients in need of emergency assistance quickly get necessary consultations and recommendations.

During the period of implementation of modernization program, computer tomgraphs were supplied to district hospitals, which have contributed to enhancement of local diagnostic capacities. Today, district doctors can use tele-healthcare technologies to send tomograph data to colleagues from the Medical Aviation Service, while the section's specialists, in their turn, can quickly interpret data received.

Yuri Bubnov, the section's neurosurgeon, says: 'Computer tomographs use tele-healthcare functionality. At any time, we can view computer images of different organs, these images being sent from any district of the region. After data examination, we either consult colleagues and patients or visit the site in question for provision of specialized medical assistance'.
