On the basis of the Samara Regional Clinical Hospital im.M.I. Kalinin held a scientific-practical conference "Automation of the complete cycle of physicians and health care facilities management today and tomorrow"

The reason of interest to this event lies in the fact that announced conference agenda included a tele-healthcare session with the Russian Scientific Center for Cancer Studies named after N. N. Blokhin (Moscow, State Institution) with the usage of the Tele-healthcare system developed by YSAR+.

The event was attended by directors of regional and municipal treatment-and-prophylactic institutions, deputy directors, section heads, and heads of IT divisions and departments.

Another visitor to the event was Vladislav Yevguenievich Romanov (Head of Healthcare Department of Samara's Municipal District Administration).

On behalf and by instruction of G. I. Gusarova (Minister of Healthcare and Social Development of the Samara Region), the guests were welcomed by Deputy Minister Vasily Vasilyevich Pavlov, who stressed importance of the event for directors and ordinary doctors of treatment-and-prophylactic institutions, as well as topicality of the chosen scheme of report presentation.

According to Maxim Nikolaevich Bagaev (Regional Director of YSAR+), today the Samara Region meets all pre-requisites for successful implementation of medical information systems in treatment-and-prophylactic institutions of any category, while the technologies offered by YSAR+ will allow to unite in a single tele-healthcare network not only institutions, but also diagnosticians for the purpose of provision of remote consulting assistance.

The visitors were shown operation of a hospital information system which was specially designed for the Russian Scientific Center for Cancer Studies named after N. N. Blokhin (State Institution) by YSAR+. Using VPN access, a connection was established with actual institution's database, with demonstration of the whole cycle of electronic document workflow (patient's health record) and with review of functionality of some modules.

Studying the Tele-healthcare module started with initiation of a tele-healthcare session between conference hall and the Blokhin Russian Scientific Center for Cancer Studies (Moscow, State Institution). From monitors installed in the hall, the visitors were welcomed by Mamed Dzhavadovich Aliev (Deputy Director of the Russian Scientific Center for Cancer Studies, Academician) and Igor Yevguenievich Tyurin (Professor of the X-Ray Diagnostics Department). The Moscow specialists noted the importance of implementation of tele-healthcare technologies and, in particular, their clinical component, whose implementation with the usage of the Tele-healthcare system (produced by YSAR+) is unique in world practice.

In real time and using a Tele-healthcare automated workplace, the tele-healthcare department of the Blokhin Center received series of diagnostic examinations for two patients from the Samara Regional Clinical Oncologic Center. In just 5 minutes, the conference-hall workstation received the Blokhin Center's reply in the form of diagnostic images with attached examination protocols. The protocols included specialists' expert opinions on patients.

As was noted by reporters, as far as the regional healthcare system was concerned, implementation of tele-healthcare for use in daily practice will allow to save significant amounts of funds that are allocated by treatment institutions for patients' visits to federal centers for consultation purposes.

Usage of common international standards for receipt and transmission of data and images in tele-healthcare systems will allow to communicate with foreign partners and share experienced obtained earlier.
