New stage of the Healthy North program

At meeting with the Governor

On November 23, 2015, Marina Kovtun (Governor of the Murmansk Region) met with participants of the program for supporting healthcare development (Healthy North).

Opening the meeting, the Head of the region thanked all of the program's partners: The National Fund for Support to Women’s Health, YSAR+ company for choosing the Murmansk Region as a testing area for implementing innovative methods of diagnostics and prophylactics of cancer diseases in women.

'We live in the Arctic region, and here human health is seriously stressed. To care for it and to protect it is vitally important for our population. This is especially relevant for women’s health', said Marina Kovtun, the regional Head, when talking about the program's significance for the Murmansk Region. 

 
As part of a new stage of the Healthy North program, the Murmansk Regional Oncologic Center Center has received a gift of new equipment for mammography room: unit for digitizing mammography images, and the JEMYS: Tele-healthcare software and hardware system with the module of SDRS-MS, for comprehensive automation of breast cancer screening processes. Implementation of this equipment in work of the Murmansk Region's Oncologic Center facilities will allow to shorten examination time, to increase efficiency of medical assistance, and will make it possible for the region's oncology doctors to receive consultations of specialists from the leading federal hospitals.
