New information technologies in the protection of children's health in Chuvashia

During the session

On December 23, in the Republic of Chuvashia was held the first session of remote telemedicine consultation between the specialists of the Republican Children's Hospital in Cheboksary and their Moscow colleagues from N.N. Blokhin Russian Cancer Research Center of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

Just a day before, the contract was signed between the Republican Children's Hospital and the Cancer Research Center, and now the first patient could directly experience the results of this cooperation.

It looked like a normal concilium, except for the fact that the doctors in Moscow and their patient in Chuvashia were one thousand kilometers away from each other. Despite that, Cheboksary specialists and their Moscow colleagues worked in the common information space, which allowed them not only to discuss all the details of this particular case in real time, but also, and most importantly, to analyze and make joint decisions in a single tool environment, processing medical research data in parallel with the patient's clinical records.

The hardware-software complex for remote telemedicine consultations developed by YSAR+ has been used successfully to combat cancer in adult patients in the Republican Clinical Oncologic Dispensary of Cheboksary. Now fast and high quality medical care, which is so necessary in difficult cases, has become available for young patients of the Republican Children's Hospital. One of the hospital's rooms was fitted with special equipment as a telemedicine center, which communicates with N.N. Blokhin Cancer Research Centre through protected channels.

A. A. Pavlov, Medical Director of the Republican Children's Hospital of Chuvashia, believes that, along with the practical help in nonstandard situations, the Hospital's specialists also got a unique opportunity to learn from the leading experts of the Federal research center.
