Usage of version 3 of the Radiological Information System (RIS/PACS) has significantly enhanced specialists' experience when working with images obtained during diagnostic examinations, for example 3D modeling, volume rendering with usage of transfer function for color and transparency, choice of several standard presets for transfer function (bones, bones/blood vessels, bones/muscles/transparent skin, 3D MRP/MIP, heart surface, heart blood vessels, lungs, etc.), possibility to edit existing transfer functions and create user's transfer functions, changing window level/width, interactive zoom-in/shifting, interactive rotation, interactive changing of light direction, cutting parts of 3D image by planes anchored to viewer, and other functionality.
