Russia-Africa Summit – New Opportunities and Prospects

After negotiation

On October 23-24, 2019, at Sirius Park of Arts and Sciences, the Russia-Africa summit was held co-chaired by the RF President Vladimir Putin and Mr. Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Chairperson of the African Union.

This if the first so high-level event attended by more than 40 leaders of the African states, and top managers of major regional associations and organizations.

 

The delegation YSAR+ was led by Mr. Sergey Robskiy, the Director. On October 23, delegates of YSAR+ held a working meeting on the Summit’s sidelines with Mr. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic of Gana. Within the meeting’s agenda the President was informed on the potentials for use of telemedical technologies by YSAR+ in the Republic of Gana’s healthcare system. In turn, the Republic of Gana’s President said that these technologies would be in demand in his country and he was ready to start the cooperation.

On the same day, talks were held with Mr. Julius Maada Bio, the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone. Mr. Julius Maada Bio expressed interest in telemedical technologies proposed by YSAR+ and invited the delegation of YSAR+ to visit Sierra Leone to commence negotiations and start promising cooperation.

 

On October 24, the delegation of YSAR+ participated the session “Development drivers for national health care system”. The spokespersons for the Session were Mrs. Veronica Skvortsova, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation; Mr. Mohamed Maait, ARE’s Minister of Finance; Mr. Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, the Chairman of the Council of Governors s of the Republic of Kenia, etc.

Later this day, the negotiations were held with Mr. Usman May Alamin, Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional Development of the Republic of Cameroon. As a result of the negotiations, Mr. Usman May Alamin, proposed to start developing of the road map and sign the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.

 

The Sochi Russia Africa summit was closed by making a final declaration, as stated by the RF President Vladimir Putin at the post-Summit press conference.
